The marketing department at Rose-Hulman wanted to have a nice animation of our yearly bonfire on the website for Homecoming. So, I was given the technical challenge of creating an animation of the bonfire being built with nothing more than a single 3D CAD file created more than a decade ago.
This is the original CAD of the Rose-Hulman Bondfire from around 2004. It is saved as one part, meaning that it would have to be parsed out manually to make it into a file that could be used in an animation.
